Hello everyone!
After intense sessions of brainstorming between every admin of this forum, we can finally announce the format for the biggest competition the world will ever see. Yeah, that's right, this is bigger than FIFA World Cup and than Formula 1!
Some things you should know about this, right now:
- The registrations will close on Wednesday, 17th september at 23:59 CET! So, if you haven't registered yet, hurry up. (looking at you, Turkey!);
- We will then draw the nations into 2 different groups on our streaming channel - - on Thursday, 18th september at 21:00 CET;
- WSbC will begin on Monday, 22nd september (next week).
The format will be the following:
- Every nation must have a captain;
- The roster sizes are: 3 players (minimum); 7 players (maximum) + 2 reserve players;
- Reserve players can only play when someone of the main roster misses a match.
- We will split the nations registered into 4 groups and this will be called the Groups Phase;
- Nations will play 1 game against each nation of their group;
- The scheduling of these games will be done like we did in our Spaceball League, ie we give the nations 1 week to schedule and play 2 games;
- 1 game consists of 3 matches, which are:
- Every match will have points at stake:
- A player can only play in 2 of these 3 matches. It is not possible for a player to play every match;
- The top 2 nations of each group will advance to the 1/4 finals;
- Teams will be seeded in 1/4 finals based on their positions on Groups, this means the 1st teams of every group will play against the 2nd teams of every group;
- In KO phase, if the nations end with the same number of points (only possible if they draw the 3 matches) then a OT should be played in 3vs3, with 1 goal limit.
We'll use the Spaceball 3vs3 League Rules for the rest of things, like how to determine the ranking on groups, the matches, post-matches, connection, breach of rules/misconduct.
Feel free to ask questions if you have them.
