HOW DOES 2V2 LADDER WORK?
-Ladder matches take place in an official ladder room where players are randomly matched with a partner and pitted against other ladder participants. Climb the ladder by winning, be knocked down for losing.
-Players may be asked to confirm via skype or spacesports
HOW DO I JOIN?
-No signup required. Simply join a tournament room to be registered.
HOW ARE TEAMS CREATED?
-The top spec will be placed on RED. The next spec will be placed on BLUE. Each team will receive a partner at random.
-To reduce wait time to play, no player will play two consecutive matches.
-Games are 4 minutes long, score limit of 4.
HOW ARE RANKINGS CALCULATED?
-Simply put, win a game will earn points. Everyone starts with 1000 points.
-The higher up the ladder you are, the more at risk your points become. Those at the top will have smaller gains for wins, and larger losses for losing.
AFK / SPECTATING IN ROOM
-Players who AFK must put up a handicap that signals they are not playing.
-A player marked AFK that is chosen to play, will be safely moved to the bottom of the list. Players away for a long time may be kicked from the room to make way for players trying to get in.
-A player who is AFK but does not have their handicap set will be removed from the room without penalty. At the hosts's discretion, player may be kicked or banned for manipulating the teams.
WHY WAS I BANNED?
-Despite afking without handicap players may be kicked or banned for:
-Insulting others
-Spamming in room

This tournament uses the established ELO system. The winning team will earn points at the cost of the losing team. For this tournament, we're using a theoretical maximum value of 40. The ranking of both players on a team are averaged to give the TEAM ELO score. For each match, the team ELO score is used to determine the stake of the match. An underdog team will be more favorably rewarded for winning. Players will win or lose the same amount of ELO as their match partner.
