A while ago I was asked to help in updating statistics in the bounce league. I've been looking at your submissions and very frankly I'm not happy with them. You have to understand that it takes a lot of time to update everything correctly and every obscurity slows us down and is frustrating. Today I updated scorers and assists from 4 games and it took me 45 minutes! You may call me slow but with correct submissions we could hopefully at least half this time. Here are some basic guidelines that you should look into before clicking the Submit button:
Playing times:
The total playing time for all players in one team must equal 45 minutes. No exceptions. Not 44:59, not 45:01, not anything else. Also if a player played for example 3:43, don't submit it as if he played 4:00. If there is 00 seconds after the minute mark, it looks very suspicous unless it's 5:00, 10:00 or 15:00.
Goals and assists:
We don't watch every replay and we definitely don't recount every goal and assist. But if we see something suspicious, we must look into it. If a team has 15 goal scorers but the game ended 14-14, I'd say it looks suspicious. Also if the team scored 15 goals but they have only 7 scorers, it looks suspicous too. It can be correct because of own goals but usually it isn't.
Do your job. Don't take the stats straight from the Serbian stats tool. It shows especially assists very wrong. You have to check every goal and assist manually yourself.
And yeah, the own goals. The freaking own goals. The rule is very simple but it may have been hidden over the time behind other discussions:
If the ball would go in even without a defender => not own goal.
If the ball would not go in without a defender => own goal.
Recently I changed stats from a game where there were 7 (!) own goals but they all were submitted as if the attacking team scored them. Ridiculous.
For assists there is always more debate whether someone deserves it or not but use your own judgement. Remember that you can get an assist also for own goals, and even if a defending player touched the ball in between the pass and the shot to goal but didn't get it in his possession.
Names:
Use your own nicknames please. No m, cwel or such.
Conclusion:
If you just don't care, please at least cover your tracks better. I don't want to see more submissions where there are something so obviously wrong.
