The game settings
The most preferred game settings are, Score Limit: 5 goals, Time Limit: 1 min.
(This forum use the same settings for tournaments. In case of 2v2 games, Time Limit can be 1 or 2 min.)
The official map is "haxmaps.com/map/845"
You can download this map on haxballmaps -> HERE.
I prefer playing 1v1 SpaceSpeedGol games with "winner-stay mode" and 2v2 games with "caps mode" in the public rooms.
SpaceSpeedGol rules
The rules of this map are really simple and they follow the classic SpeedGol rules:
1. Do not stop your move before the kickoff! You can only slow down it like the footballers can do it on penalty kick. The goal forward after stopping the move in kickoff is invalid. If a player doesn’t score after this kickoff (or score the goal against), nothing happens and the game continues normally.
2. Do not play on time, delaying the game is forbidden. Just always try to score and reach the Score Limit: 5 as the 1st one. If a player violates this rule, the match ends at this moment as defwin 0:3 for the opponent.
And the two additional rules for 1v1/2v2 SpaceSpeedGol tournaments organised by this forum or by me:
3. The game ends on time 1:00 as draw and both players gain 1 pt. (or 2:00 with 2v2)
4. You should always count with the fact that the tournament takes 40-80 minutes depending on number of players, so be sure you have enough time on playing it. So do not start with tournament if you haven’t a time and do not quit the running tournament. If a player has some remaining matches scheduled and he quits the tournament, he may be put on BlackList and can not play the another tournaments ever more - it depends on the assessment and on circumstances.
Note: The tournament format always depends on number of players partipated in the tournament and on the decision by admin. Playoff matches - SFs and Final usually are played on 2 halves (each player plays on both red and blue side), in case of draw the game leads to OverTime, with 2 matches - Game settings: 2g limit, 1min; and after the penalties.
Admins and all players on this map count with good manners by players. Although honour and fairplay can’t be determine exactly, believe me that we have seen many SpeedGol matches before and we know how to review the play and we will punish unfair players. I or other admins decide on our discretion and always try to be objective. Respect the decision of the admin. But there was no need to punish players in the previous tournaments on this forum, so continue with this way and enjoy your SpaceSpeedGol games
