Spaceball 3v3 League Rules
1. Participation
All players must be registered to the forum in order to participate in the league.
Each player will agree to a contract to play for their team for the duration of the League season. The only exceptions will be released or transferred players (see Section 5).
Each team will have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6 players.
By taking part in the league you agree to adhere to the rules herein.
2. League
Each team will score points based on the outcome of the match:
3 win regular time
2 win in overtime
1 draw/lose in overtime
0 lose in regular time
League ranking will be based in order of:
Total number of points
Head-to-head team record
Goal difference
Goals scored
3. Matches
Matches will be 7 minutes each half (14 minutes in total) with teams exchanging sides at half-time. There shall be no score limit for each half. If a game ends tied after the regular time, e.g. 1st half 1-0, 2nd half 0-1 or 1st half 1-1, 2nd half 0-0, the teams will have to stop the game when the clock say it's 7:00. After that they will exchange sides once again and start a new game (called Overtime) with Score Limit 1 and without a Time Limit.
Games will be competed 3 vs 3 only. 2 vs 3, 2 vs 2 and other possibilities aren't allowed.
Games will be played on ‘Big Spaceball - SpaceSports.tk’. You can download this map for free here: haxmaps.com/map/3215
Each team will play each other twice throughout the season.
The team who finish first in the Spaceball 3v3 League at the end of the season will be crowned Champions.
Captains should discuss and agree about who will host the match between their teams. If they don't come to an agreement, then they shall contact the Admins to find a good neutral host. If the Host is playing during the match then he/she must handicap his/her ping to 100 or to the lowest ping in the room if there are players with a lower ping than 100.
Two (2) games shall be played every week. These two games must be played by midnight on Sunday of the week they were scheduled. If the game is not completed then both teams will have one (1) more week to play it. Please note that you can only do this five (5) times. After those five times, your team will lose every game you try to delay. Only 1 delay per game is allowed. If a team tries to use 2 delays for the same game, it's a 3-0 loss for them. If the game has not been completed due to the inability of one team to attend the fixture then the game will be awarded as a 3-0 win to the opponent team. If you want, you can play the games scheduled for next week in advance, if both teams agree on it.
All team players must be in the room at the scheduled start time. If one of the teams doesn't have at least three (3) players ready to play ten (10) minutes after the scheduled time, then the team Captain shall forfeit or ask the other team Captain to reschedule the match.
Teams will have a 1 minute lag-test prior to the start of the match to confirm there are no connection issues. There will be no more than 1 minute at half-time to organise teams.
The Captain of each team will be given admin responsibility for their team. This will include the organising or their team and setting of the team colours. If the Captain isn't present, then the Vice-Captain shall take his/her role.
The total score will be the aggregate score from each half.
In the event that a last-second goal is scored when teams are drawing it will only count if the clock is showing 7:00 or below and the game returns to kick-off.
Substitutions may be made during a break in play. This will be after a goal is scored or during the half-time break. If a substitution is required after a goal is scored the team Captain shall pause the game to allow the substitution. There are no limits to the number of substitutions made. A substitution may also be made if the Host has paused the game due to any connection issues (see Section 6).
4. Post Match
At least one player of each playing team needs to record each match and one of them will submit the result on the Match Submission form, with the match video. Everyone is encouraged to record the game as well, just to play safe.
All match videos to be uploaded to www.haxballtube.com.
Goals and Assists will be awarded in favour of the attacking team where possible. Only major diversions, pushes or kicks will count as a touch on the ball.
League and Player tables shall be updated in the end of each week, when all (or most) games are played.
5. Transfers
Players are contracted to their club for the season, however with consent from the Team Captain any player can be released from their team or transfer to another team. A player may sign contract for a maximum of two teams during any one League season and can't leave his/her team until the end of the season.
A Team Captain can decide to release a player from their team at any point during the season.
If a player feels that they have been unfairly released from their club then they need to contact the Admins immediately to discuss their grievance so that it can be formally investigated.
6. Connection/Ping
It is the responsibility of each individual player to ensure their connection is suitable for the game.
If there are lag issues then this is either due to:
The host connection - In this case there will be lag for all players. Whilst this is not ideal, because there is lag for everyone no team or individual player is at an undue disadvantage.
The player’s connection - If this is the case then the player must look to resolve his/her own connection issues. When this cannot be resolved, the Team Captain is encouraged to substitute that player if possible.
When a player clearly suffers from a big lag during a game it is recommended that the game is paused by one of the admins of the room. The team Captain of this player will then try to solve this issue, either by waiting for that player to refresh or by substiting. Teams must have fair play after this point and allow the player to re-join the field of play before commencing.
If players have stopped due to a connection problem and a goal is scored then that goal shall be disallowed. This decision will be made by both team Captains immediately during the game time, if the captain of the lagged team made no claims to the specific moment, it will not be discussed after the game ended.
7. Breach of Rules/Misconduct
Any behaviour which may bring the League into disrepute will be dealt with strongly. There should be no bad language, insults, provocation or distraction whilst a League game is in process. Any players acting in this manner can be banned from the room instantly, even if they are involved in the game. Depending on the severity of the offence the player may also face disciplinary action after the game. This may range from a 1 match ban to being expelled from the League.
In-game infringements including, but not limited to; continuing to play whilst play has clearly stopped due to a lagging player, passing the halfway line before the kick-off has been taken, falsely claiming to lag or be ‘afk’ (away from keyboard) in order to gain an unfair advantage, kicking/banning a player or taking opposing Captain's admin away during games, playing with suspended/banned players. These shall be dealt with after the match and the player (or players) involved shall be subject to disciplinary action by the League Admins.
Repeat offences from teams, including, but not limited to; not fielding enough players, not arriving on time, not being available to arrange a match. These shall be dealt with on a case by case basis by the League Admins and teams may be subject to points penalties or expulsion from the League where the situation does not improve.
Using a fake name or taking the name of another player is a very serious offence. Any player found doing so will be expelled from the League permanently.
Any use of macros or hacks is completely forbidden. Any player or team found to be using such device(s) will be permanently banned from the League and stripped of any League results or honours.
8. Rule Amendments
The rules will be regularly reviewed to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the League. Any amendments will be communicated well in advance to all Teams and Players.
The League Admins have the ultimate decision on any matter with regards to the rules.
